Silk was born in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. The daughter of Peter, an academic, as well as Ilkay Silk who was a renowned actress and director. She was also a educator, playwright and director of drama of Drama at St. Thomas University. The earliest memories of Anna were of going to play rehearsals, and then watching her mother do her job. Silk played a role as a young girl in several commercials. She earned her Bachelor of Arts was conferred from St. Thomas University, 1997. The couple got married in Fredericton on 10 April 2011, after her decision to convert to Judaism the couple renewed their vows at a Jewish wedding ceremony.
